Magnesium Citrate has a comparatively high bioavailability compared to other forms of Magnesium, this means it is more readily absorbed and used by the body.
Magnesium bound to Citrate appears to have a bioavailability of around 25-30%, higher than the likes of Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Chloride and Magnesium Dihydroxide, the latter of which is primarily used as a laxative… not what you need from your magnesium supplement if indeed your intention is to boost magnesium levels.
